Additional Meeting – OPINION
I don’t usually include my opinion, but to me, this wasn’t the best way to conduct a meeting. The P&Z board did not allow for a public comment period, which is within their legal rights of open meeting laws. However, when you only have four people attending the P&Z meeting, three regular attendees and a citizen that was obviously there to ask a question or make a comment, why wouldn’t the board ask if there were any questions at the end of the meeting? If the board is sincerely interested in conducting business for the citizens, when a resident sits through an hour and half of “Table 6.1 dialog,” the least you can do is listen to what he has to say during the meeting. After the meeting was adjourned, and the camera turned off, the board did answer his questions.
