William Moseley-Williams of Foxfire Village passed away peacefully at FirstHealth Hospice House on January 20, 2024 after a long illness.
Bill was born in Detroit, Michigan on August 10, 1933, the only child of Newton and Lucy Moseley-Williams. Bill enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1952 and was stationed in Anchorage, Alaska. He received his honorable discharge in 1954.
He went on to earn his Bachelor of Science degree in business from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio in 1958. Bill then began working for Anchor-Hocking Glass Company in Lancaster, Ohio. Over the years, Bill held various positions in sales, working in Rochester, NY, Boston, MA, Philadelphia, PA, Orlando, FL, and Ridgefield, CT. He culminated his career as Vice President of Anchor-Hocking Glass container division in Tampa, FL until his retirement in 1995.
Bill was an avid golfer and sports enthusiast. While living in Florida, he and Harry Susla won the member-guest tournament at East Lake Woodlands Country Club in 1991. Bill had many wonderful golfing adventures with his wife Sandy, playing at Pebble Beach, Greenbrier, Torrey Pines, and Hilton Head. He also enjoyed many years at his two home courses at Foxfire Village.
He was a huge Michigan fan including the Detroit Tigers, Lions, Red Wings and above all the University of Michigan. It was indeed a thrill for him to see Michigan win the National title.
As an animal lover throughout his life, he was devoted to his Pekingese dogs, Sam and Leo, a Keeshond Keisha and his Wheaton Terriers Drexel, Kelli and Brodie.
Bill is survived by his loving wife Sandy of 44 years, his daughter Jennifer Foss and her husband Vance, a son Gary Moseley-Williams and his wife Jennifer, a son Randy Moseley-Williams and Cara Caddell, a step-son Steven Bobbins, a step-daughter, Alexis Carter, two granddaughters Nicole West and her husband Gabe, Jennifer Judge and her husband Michael, a great grandson Jude Judge and step grandson Alex Carter and his wife Lila.
Bill will be forever missed by his family and friends.
