NOTES FROM THE MEETING:
Zoning Administrator’s Report:
Report covers activities from June 12 – July 9
Currently 32 homes are under construction within the village and ETJ
Received this month 3 single family resident applications
1 swimming pool permit (bringing the total to 6 pools for this year).
From Chief Michael report: No walking allowed on the golf course at all. Not during hours before hours after hours. Police have been asked to enforce. Also, suggestion to have registration for golf carts.
Several residents attended the meeting, questions and comments from the Foxfire residents:
First comment came from Leslie Frusco:
I would respectfully request that the council consider under the current water situation that we have a moratorium on building permits. As stressed as it seems that our water system, adding new homes at this point in time does not appear to me to be a wise thing to do. Respectfully request that maybe you detail some of the things about why the water restrictions are in place to everybody not just at this meeting that include – if we don’t conserve water then we may run out of water which means you may not have water in your homes. Also, what the financial impact is to the village which means to the residents if we are running pumps at twice there normal thing, about how much it cost to replace those pumps and what financial impact it is to the village and therefore to the residents.
Comments and questions from other village residents:
Speeding on Eagle and Forest Lake Dr, and running stop sign
Landscaping around the golf course maintenance building and equipment being parked outside
What is the follow up on the questions that are being asked, how do residents get answers
Anything with the pool, reason for lack of fireworks, condition of the golf course and not fixing potholes.
Email question sent in regarding grants
Address internal water saving residents can do to preserve water
On the new well that is being installed, what capacity that well is going to produce. What scares me is when we get into a situation where we have all this growth, is this going to be something that is going to continue year after year or do I need to make plans to get out.
Add information to the village website showing “daily” pumping hours used
Report – study done in 2007 for Foxfire, regarding water source alternatives, see attached below
Infrastructure, is it an option to change the pumps to a higher volume pump, is it cheaper than additional wells.
A second request for a moratorium on building permits and the mayor was handed a copy of the moratorium the city of Cameron enacted.
Question about well #6, back in APRIL work session, discussion regarding restoring the well
