LOCAL CONVENIENCE STORES BROKEN INTO OVERNIGHT IN SOUTHERN MOORE COUNTY
Thieves reportedly struck two local convenience stores overnight, one in Pinebluff and one off of Roseland Road at the corner of Sandpit Road.
According to management with Macs Exxon their motion detectors went off at 3:40 am this morning showing movement in their store.
Management from the store met law enforcement at the scene and a deputy made entry to ensure no one was still in the store, however the thieves had already absconded.
The thieves made entry by taking out a window pane of a window in a hidden position in front of the store.
While inside, they damaged one gaming machine attempting to make entry, however, they were not able to access the money. Two rows of Newport cigarettes were taken from the store among other items.
Reportedly Nic’s Pic Kwik located on US Highway 1 in Pinebluff, was hit just minutes before the store on Roseland Road was broken into.
It is not known if it was the same subjects that entered both stores.
We are contacting law enforcement officials to get further details and we will update readers as more information becomes available.
